For many years now, we enter horses in competitive sports and we do so with great success. In 2007 and 2008, Age Okkema established the title Dutch Championship for pairs open class. Among other things, he scored the record number of 89 points with Maik fan Fjildsicht in the class young Friesian horses with harness aptitude.
We can enter your horse in various disciplines in the competitive sports. Among other things, in the classes young Friesian horses with dressage or harness aptitude, competition dressage, harnessing and driving.
Your horse’s sporting achievements are getting increasingly important, consider the predicate ‘sports and performance.’ The sports predicate is one of the means to definitely gain the title crown for your horse.
The sports predicate is given to mares, geldings and stallions with good results in competitive sports.
The minimum requirements to gain the sports predicate are:
- Dressage: Z1 + 5 (advanced level.)
- Harness: category I & II honorary class and category III open class, ranked six times in one season as a prizewinner in the ‘green season’ (15th April until 1st October.)
- Driving (dressage): Z +10 (advanced level.)
- Driving (compound): class 3 + 10. You should indicate in advance with which Friesian horse(s) you would like to participate. You should do so with the KFPS (Dutch Frisian Horses Studbook) as well as with the KNHS (Royal Dutch Equestrian Federation.) The horse must have scored at least ten points in class 3 from the moment on which the horse has been entered with the KFPS and the KNHS.
